След смъртта на женската Тйен Тйен четири години по-късно, мъжкият Бао Бао живее като ерген, докато през април 1995 г. не получава нова партньорка - Ян Ян. Тя си отива през 2007 г., без да се сдобие с поколение, а Бао Бао доживява рекордните за мъжка панда 34 години и през 2012 г. също се преселва в отвъдното. През лято 2015 те се събират отново, вече като препарирани експонати в Природонаучния музей.
